Important to know: How to avoid phone scammers

Phone scammers use increasingly complex schemes to deceive people and steal money.
O!Bank warns: never disclose your bank account details or other personal data by phone.
What methods do scammers use?
• They call introducing themselves as bank or government employees.
• They say there are problems with your account or your data has been stolen.
• They ask you to provide details such as passwords, PIN and card numbers.
• They ask you to follow links or install unknown apps.
How to protect yourself?
• If they call from an unknown number and say that your data has been stolen, end the conversation.
• Never disclose your card details (number, validity period, CVV/CVC and codes from SMS or push notifications), either over the phone or online, even when talking to supposed bank employees.
• Do not answer video calls from strangers, do not click on links or download applications from dubious sources.
• If in doubt, call the bank (9999) for more details.
How to protect yourself from card theft?
• Do not save card details in browser or on device.
• Do not enter card details on suspicious or unreliable websites.
• If the ATM or terminal looks damaged or strange, use another one.
• Use a card with a limited amount for online purchases, and restrict online transactions on the main card.
• If the card is lost or stolen, block it through the My O! superapp.
• Check your purchase and payment history regularly.
• Use complex passwords and two-step authentication for banking apps.
If you encounter fraud:
• Notify the bank to block the card or account.
• File a complaint with law enforcement.
Important: O!Bank employees never request personal information over the phone.
