O!Bank warning on telephone scammers

O!Bank warns about the increase in telephone scams and recommends being careful when receiving calls from unknown numbers.
What methods do scammers use?
• They call and introduce themselves as bank or government employees.
• They say that there are problems with your account or that your data has been stolen.
• They ask you to provide data such as passwords, PINs and card numbers.
• They ask you to open links they provide or install unknown applications.
How to protect yourself?
• If you receive a call from an unknown number saying that your data has been stolen, turn off the call.
• Do not provide card details (number, expiration date, CVV/CVC and codes from SMS or push notifications) either online or by phone, even to Bank employees.
• Do not answer video calls from unknown numbers, do not follow unknown links and do not download applications from unverified sources.
• Contact the bank at 9999 for more information.
How to protect yourself from card theft?
• Do not store card details in your browser or device.
• Do not enter card details on dubious or unofficial websites.
• Use another ATM or payment terminal if the device seems damaged or suspicious.
• Use a separate card with a limited amount for online transactions and set a ban on online transactions for the main card.
• If the card lost or stolen, immediately block that via the mobile app.
• Regularly check the payment and purchase history.
• Use complex passwords and two-factor authentication for banking apps.
What to do if you encounter fraud?
• Notify the bank to block the card or account.
• File a report with law enforcement agencies.
